MUSIC – Music is a versatile, Porcelain variety that adapts extremely well to a wide range of growing conditions and environments. Music is Tee’s Plants top pick. In my experience it reliably produces the largest cloves.
BIG BOY – A consistent producer that is easy to care for and is very dependable. As its name suggests, Big Boy is extremely vigorous and can produce huge bulbs. Under ideal conditions, bulbs can grow to over 3 inches in size! Tends to grow 1 extra clove compared to music.
ITALIAN PURPLE – This Italian variety is also known as “Gambino” in certain regions and is the primary garlic found in many kitchens. It is a cold-hardy strain that thrives in Canada’s harsh climate and consistently produces firm, healthy bulbs of good size.
GERMAN PORCELAIN – this robust, hardneck variety came to North America with German Mennonite immigrants over a hundred years ago. It is known for its hardiness, huge bulb size and performs extremely well in cold climates and a wide range of soil conditions.
CHESNOK RED – Has beautifully coloured bulbs that clean easily. Cloves have a hot and spicy flavour that can linger nicely. Flavour mellows over time with storage and cooking. Good for baking with a creamy texture.
RUSSIAN RED – An extremely popular Eastern European treasure that is fiery with a mellow and smooth aftertaste. It has heat when eaten raw and a wonderfully rich, complex garlicky flavour when cooked. This variety of Russian Red comes from the Purple Stripe garlic family and is known for its impressive hardiness.

JUMBO BULB – $10 each. The absolute highest grade of garlic you can grow. Shockingly large cloves. I recommend jumbo bulbs because of their garden novelty.
X-LARGE BULB – $9 each. If you’re not looking for the craziest garlic ever, these are still PRETTY crazy.
MEDIUM BULB – $4.50 each. Typical seed garlic size, but of course, taste great! Plant medium bulbs, and save your largest ones to plant yourself the next season! Mediums are an economical way to start growing high quality garlic.
